Overview
The MPE-4000 is a professional 19-inch broadcast encoder that accepts HDMI, SDI, YPbPr and CVBS video and encodes it in MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 in HD and SD, with bitrates from 0.52 to 60 Mbps. Audio is processed via XLR, RCA, AES, HDMI and SDI inputs with MPEG-1 Layer II, AAC and Dolby AC3 encoding, including AC3 pass-through on SDI. The resulting transport stream is delivered over two ASI ports and IP (UDP/RTP, multicast or unicast), with selectable low-latency modes down to 150 ms. Configuration is handled via the front-panel LCD/keypad or the integrated web interface, with Ethernet-based software updates.
